Anna Paquin is a New Zealand actress born in Canada, who started in the industry at the age of 11; winning the Academy Award for the Best Supporting Actress as a child artist in the critically successful film The Piano. Her acting career flourished a few years later after her performances in a string of increasingly popular films She’s All That, Almost Famous and the X-Men film series in which she wore her famous Black Catsuit.
She is also a renowned television actress; winning a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television series for her leading role in HBO’s television series True Blood as protagonist Sookie Stackhouse. Her role in True Blood also led to her marriage to her co-star Stephen Moyer, whom she had been dating since the filming of the pilot for the series.
Through her marriage, she has a step-son and step-daughter as well. She came out as a bisexual when she was featured in a public service announcement for an advocacy group dedicated to equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans* people.
